Your daughter tried desperately to save your life. You would have been so proud of her.
But you were gone, and only God knows why.
I loved you dearly.

It broke my heart when you left
And it will never be repaired back to normal.
Yes, the cracks and rips are healed
But my heart will always be scarred because you left.
The day God took you – most certainly a part of me went too.
Now 11 years later we have achieved a “new” normal.
If God would allow
a new beginning open up,

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for you and your family's loss. Erick, my son, passed away suddenly in 2017 from an abdominal aortic aneurysm, at 39 yrs old. Nothing will ever be the same. Your poem is like it came right from my soul, I couldn't believe that it was every thing that I wanted to say to him! Thank you for sharing, and may I copy this to make a memorial plaque in my small garden for him? Again... condolences to you and your family.
