2015 in Review

Sold my little "mansion on the hill" and moved back to the northside.  The commute to work was horrible.

My "new" huge house.  Biggest house I have ever lived in.  Crazy...buying such a big house, but it sure is nice when all the kiddos are home.

Our annual Vera Bradley Outlet Sale.  It is always such a fun day.  We usually go over to Berne, and visit the cheese shop and other little stores.  This time we stopped at a little town on the way, can't even remember the name, and ate at a restaurant that I think was called "The Juntion".  Oh my goodness.....the food was YUMMY!!!!

Debbie and I went for a few days to Tennessee.  I conquered my fear of riding in the SkiLift.  I don't think Debbie could hardly believe I did it.  I plan on doing it again.

Said goodbye to Petunia.  Didn't really want to, but she needed to find a new home.  She was replaced with a White Honda Accord, who I cannot find a name for.  Poor thing.......

Went to the IN State Fair with the family, and Rachel's boyfriend Ty.  It was super hot.  I ended up sitting most of the time watching the horses.  It was air conditioned, and that is more my speed.  Ha!

Learned a new hairstyle with Lila Rose hair clips.

Got to go to Yuletide for the first time.  What a delightful evening.
Lots of eventful happening in my life for 2015, including a job transfer to a new position where I work.  2015 wasn't a complete bed of roses, but I'm not going to dwell on that.  I am blessed.

Yuletide

December 4, 2015 found us at Yuletide for the first time.  We were all so excited.  We decided to go "formal" which made it even more special.

I think if we go formal again, I will do a tea length dress.  I don't like tripping over the dress trying to get up the stairs.  :)

It was fun to people watch, and the music was superb.  What a way to end a work filled week.

Ole Red

My Daddy’s Old Truck

Many, many years ago when I was a little girl, and yes Debbie we had cars then…….my Daddy had an old 1953 GMC pickup truck.
Lots and lots of memories around this old truck.
1.        My Mother was a stay at home Mom, and was always faithful to have supper ready when Daddy got home from work.  He gave another man who lived close by a ride to work.  We would watch the highway, and wait for him to go by, and then go to the house and say….”Daddy’s coming”.
2.       That old red truck had a set of white side boards.  Back in the “old” days you could ride in the back of the truck.  If the sideboards were on, we could even stand up and ride with the wind in our faces.  What fun.
3.       Sometimes when we weren’t going very far, we could ride on the tailgate and let our feet dangle.  Incredible fun.
4.        Riding along with my Pops to take the trash to the dump.  Phew….
5.       Loads and loads of lumber hauled to build a new house.
6.       Riding sometimes on the outside steps.  Of course not going far.  Sometimes we would lay down in the bed of the truck while we rode.
7.       Nobody thought anything of it when kids rode in the back.  Times do change.
8.       No air conditioning, but who cared.   Roll the windows down, and let the air blow you away.

9.       More memories I am sure – but that old truck is thought of with fondness and of course my Pops.  And as he reads this is is probably saying….”Don’t call me Pops”.

It's The Most Boring Part of the Day.......

In the afternoon at work not much of anything happens, and my ADD kicks in and.........
so........ to the tune of  "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"

It’s the most boring time of the day…..
When the people are napping and  cashiers are bonkers…
Because people aren’t paying their bills….
It’s the most boring time of the day.

It the most boring time of the day…..
When Petey drops in and visits a spell……
Driving cashiers batty and wacky……
It the most boring time of the day.

It’s the most boring time of the day.
When Peggy and Becky are wanting to go…..
And the clocks says…..Oh no you don’t!
It’s  the most boring time of the day.

It the most boring time of the day
When the money is calling and people are stalling
And Peggy has lost it for sure.
It the most boring time of the day.

See......I've lost it for sure.  Haha!

Think????

I want a fireplace in my living room.
Think this would be hard to build?
Of course....electric logs.

I cannot even begin to tell you how happy this makes me.
Knowing that tomorrow the alarm will not go off.
Knowing even though I will probably wake up early - it's ok if I snuggle back down in my warm covers.
Knowing I don't have to deal with grouchy people, or problem people, or people with problems.
Knowing that if I want to sit down and take a break I can do it.
Knowing that nobody cares if I'm not in uniform.
Knowing I can wear what shoes I want to wear.
Knowing if I want to take off and go get a coke, I can.
Just knowing.........Friday is a wonderful day
Because tomorrow is Saturday!!!!!

Just for Fun

This youngin' used to try this when she was littler.  So she decided to give it another try.  No warning to Grandma B. Just up in the air she went.  Talk about the laughter.   All good fun.

Question

Ok, my faithful reader....ha.....Jenny......
I have lace curtains in my living room with a burgandy swag.
Nothing wrong with it, just tired of lace curtains.

I love this style of curtain, but it is way out of style, and I don't really want my house to look to "old".  I'm old enough.....haha.
I have a red plaid couch, so I have been thinking about making some gray print with red border rod pocket curtains.
Make your suggestions, and if you like post pictures.   I need HELP!!!!

Momma Loves Her Girls

There is no Momma that loves her children any more than this Momma does.  Of course, all the other Momma probably say, "Oh yes, there is".   :)
My girls are the pride of my life.  Their Dad was sure proud of them too.
Get them together, and you are sure to have lots of giggles, and fun.

House Progress

I never took before pictures.  I wish I had, but to late now.  Let's just say.....the place was very dirty.  Paint and new floor coverings make a world of difference.

There is a walk in closet and large master bath, but not ready for pictures yet.

I'm Back

Thought I would discontinue my blog for awhile, but we are up and running again.  I guess that is a woman's choice - to change her mind. Ha!

I sold my home on the south side, and moved back "home".  It has been a chore to get everything put in order but slowly it is coming together.

Love not having to go through downtown rush hour traffice on the interstate.

We will see how long I last on the blog this time.   Nothing much exciting goes on - just go to work and come home and crash.

Until next time.....ta....ta.......
